I have to admit, I had some high hopes about going to see the big man. I mean, it's a serious thing meeting Santa. You get nervous and pee a little on his boot, and you're getting catnip for life every Christmas!
While we were waiting, a Bulldog showed up and kept threatening to eat Morgan. I'm glad I warned her about being on your best behavior in front of Santa, because I'm pretty sure that Bulldog ended up on the Naughty list. He was growling at everyone, right in front of Santa.
Finally, we got to our turn to see Santa. Mom said we had to pose for a picture. A picture?! I showed up to read Santa my wish list, not pose for pictures. Mom explained that for ten dollars, we'd get a picture with Santa and the money would go to help our local animal shelter, so I put on my best smile and got into place beside Blueberry. Morgan sat beside him. Then, it turns out, Santa was afraid to take our leashes! I was amazed. I mean, sure, if Morgan had been all Shepherdy and telling him to keep his hands off the princess, then I could understand, be we all wagged our tails and gave him our doe eyes. Whoever heard that Santa was afraid of big dogs?
Well, soon it was over and we left after getting our pictures taken. I was a little disappointed and Mom explained that he was really one of Santa's elves who must be having a bad day, but that she was proud of me for posing and doing my best. We went to the front to pay for our picture and we got ornament dog treats. Dad bought us some special snowflake cookies, too, since we did so well.
The day wasn't a total loss, though. After we were done, we went to Petsmart. We met a handsome Greyhound there named Brody and his owner gave us his e-mail address so we could meet up later when the weather gets better. Blue and I were both glad we were wearing our stylish pink coats. I also found something that I'm going to put at the top of my Christmas list.
Now I'm off to have visions of sugarplums! I hope the real Santa will bring us something good. What are all of you hoping for this Christmas?
Oh woo poor furiends!!!
ReplyDeleteI think woo have what I'm hoping fur!
Stay safe out there in it!

Afraid to take your leashes ! I blame it on the reindeer.

ReplyDeleteSharon Kara-mel and Ki-lee
I'm sorry to hear THAT Santa was afraid of three of you, he should know that you three are the sweetest and the most gentle girls in the world. However, SANTA knows you all well and will bring you gifts on that particular day. You just have to make sure you all fall asleep though, being the most responsible girl, I guess you've to warn Morgan that again.
ReplyDeleteMy wish list is pretty long and I try my best to behave myself all the time, I hope SANTA can see how hard I'm trying and give me loads of treats and toys! Am I greedy? I hope NOT!!!
What kind of Santa signs up to help an animal shelter and is afraid of big dogs. I think he was a big phony! The real Santa Paws loves ALL dogs. I mean if he can handle reindeer, he can certainly handle dogs!
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
Bunny... you have Candy Cane Antlers??? I think those would tasted grrrreat. I love to gnaw on Deer antlers.
ReplyDeleteI want Santa Paws to find a furever home fur Ziggy. And a HOOOOOGE SNOW fur Khyra.
I am pretty sure that that was just one of Santa Paws' helper Shelves. The REAL Santa Paws would just LOVE all of you.
Bunny, you are leaving us wondering what it is you want for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThat was definitely a Santa helper, but he shouldn't have been scared of your leashes. I think he needs to find a different line of work.
I love everyone's hats!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Santa being a bit timid! Maybe he was tired, or maybe he was at the wrong place!!!
We have already gotten what we wanted for Christams...SNOW and LOTS of it:)
Bunny, love your ears. :) I can't even imagine a Santa that doesn't want to hold a doggie leash. Geesh, he is not a very good Santa for sure and he will be on his own naughty list. We are so glad Morgan behaved like an angel. :) We don't get to go see Santa because Winston pees on his boots, so we just get to hope he hears our prayers for pressies. :) Cleo, Winston and Amiee
ReplyDeleteP.SSS - It is really cold here as well, not much snow but geez you must pee fast before it freezes.
You has to be careful, Bunny, coz there do be impawsters out there. Sad but troo. One year when the boy woz a yungun he went to see the Easter bunny. While he woz sitting on the Easter bunny's lap the bunny's nose and whiskers falled on the floor! Rilly! Wassup with that? That be as bad as the Santa impawster not wanting to hold your leashes. I mean the real Santa holds reindeer leashes, so dog leashes should be a no brainer!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSanta's stand-in was a bit silly by the sound of it but you seem to have had a good day all the same and made a new friend which is always lovely.
Love and licks Winnie x
I love the candy cane ears, too cute!
ReplyDeleteI cant believe that dog was acting so naughty in front of santa!!
I can't believe Santa was afraid of dogs!! :-O At least you got treats for putting up with him!
ReplyDeleteRugby got his picture with Santa on Saturday too. It was CRAZY in there. Cats, dogs, and one guy brought in his monitor lizard to take a picture with Santa!! Luckily our Santa was a good sport about all the animals.
Hm. must be a bulldog thing. Mom says she isn't taking us to see Santa, that it will do nothing good for our images BOL. Glad to hear you were all angels though! Love the christmas collars BTW!
ReplyDeleteSnorts-
Brutus & Carmen
LOVE your candy cane antlers!
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad your photos with Santa ended up being such a downer. What kind of a Santa is afraid of a sweet dog like you? Your mom was very forgiving and probably right. Maybe he was just really tired.
ReplyDeleteI hope the photo turned out well regardless.
Did you ask Santa for a Red Ryder carbine action BB gun with a compass in the stock and a thing that tells time?
ReplyDeleteWhat a bad Santa being afraid to hold your leashes!!! Geeze!!
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute in your hats and all!
I am glad that at least it wasn't a total loss and that you found a friend at Petsmart.
LOVED THIS POST it was HILARIOUS!
I also LOVE Dennis's comment above mine because "A Christmas Story" is one of my ALL TIME favorite movies!
I used to live where it was filmed! :)
We can't believe that Santa Paws was afraid of you!! Such cute pictures of you in your Christmas Candy Cane hat :)
ReplyDeletePugs & Kisses,
Yoda, Brutus & Sally
Hi Bunny and family,
ReplyDeleteSome people!! Some dogs!!! You all had a bad Santa, and a bad dog around there. That poor bad dog probably was just afraid!! I don't know what was wrong with Santa!!!! You all looked lovely!!
I'll go to the CranApple site when I can find some time, thanks.
xx, Bambi & Fern
LOVE the photo with Bunny sporting her Christmas hat! That just cracked me up.
ReplyDeleteSanta, wouldn't hold leashes? Seriously? What a dork!
ReplyDeleteThat is totally crazy!!! Poor puppers (and you!). Hope that bakery doesn't hire the same "elf" next year!
ReplyDeletexoxoxoxo
Sammie and Avalon
I think that was the santa that messed up and didn't give me a present last year! :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Perhaps the bull dog bit him and he was projecting :)
ReplyDeleteSorry for the bad santa imposter dude. You look awfully cute in the hats, though.
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
That HAD to be a Santa impostor to be askeered of you! Especially in your funny hats!!
ReplyDeleteWhat the crap? Scaredy Santa?? I have never trusted that guy..Mom says we can just send in our list. Too bad that Santa didn't give you some luvins. You look very pretty in your antlers!
ReplyDeleteKitty and Coco
Barbara is right - that had to be a Santa impostor. The reindeer that lead Santa's sleigh are hugely larger than you girls and he's not afraid to handle their leashes. Hmph! Well, you girls were wise to put on your best behavior and sweet faces all the same. Sounds like the trip to Petsmart was worth it. You and Blueberry look very cute in your festive holiday attire. =)
ReplyDeleteA Santa scared to hold leashes? Hmmm, we are thinking the wrong elf got dispatched.
ReplyDeleteI do love the array of hats!
ReplyDeleteWhat a silly Santa - he was surely in the wrong job. We had to smile at your very festive headgear - very cute.
ReplyDeleteWoos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
Oh my goodness! Those antlers are so cute!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite line: "the icebox from hell!"
ReplyDeleteGood thing Santa is always watching, ya know checking his list, checking it twice, cause it sounds like the Bulldog out and you two are in!! :)
Bunny, you sure look festive, and I've got it on good authority that Santa can see you even when you're sleeping and knows when you've been good (or bad), so I'm sure he's been keeping track of your behavior and I am positive you'll end up on the Nice list.
ReplyDeleteyou guys awe just full of the adowabullness and we luvs youw pictures. did you get ouw get well card??
ReplyDeletepibble sugars and wee wiggles

Your head gear is AWESOME! :)
