Dear Santa...

Hello everyone!  Bunny here at the keyboard to share our moment with Santa.

I have to admit, I had some high hopes about going to see the big man.  I mean, it's a serious thing meeting Santa.  You get nervous and pee a little on his boot, and you're getting catnip for life every Christmas!

Lilac muttered something about the van being "an icebox from hell" and refused to go, so Blueberry, Morgan and I put on our best Christmas finery and headed off to the dog bakery where Santa was meeting dogs.  I heard there were two cats who showed up, too, but I didn't see them while we were there.  It was a long line, as you can imagine, and there were lots of dogs there waiting their turn to see the jolly old elf.

While we were waiting, a Bulldog showed up and kept threatening to eat Morgan.  I'm glad I warned her about being on your best behavior in front of Santa, because I'm pretty sure that Bulldog ended up on the Naughty list.  He was growling at everyone, right in front of Santa.

Finally, we got to our turn to see Santa.  Mom said we had to pose for a picture.  A picture?!  I showed up to read Santa my wish list, not pose for pictures.  Mom explained that for ten dollars, we'd get a picture with Santa and the money would go to help our local animal shelter, so I put on my best smile and got into place beside Blueberry.  Morgan sat beside him.  Then, it turns out, Santa was afraid to take our leashes!  I was amazed.  I mean, sure, if Morgan had been all Shepherdy and telling him to keep his hands off the princess, then I could understand, be we all wagged our tails and gave him our doe eyes.  Whoever heard that Santa was afraid of big dogs?

Well, soon it was over and we left after getting our pictures taken.  I was a little disappointed and Mom explained that he was really one of Santa's elves who must be having a bad day, but that she was proud of me for posing and doing my best.  We went to the front to pay for our picture and we got ornament dog treats.  Dad bought us some special snowflake cookies, too, since we did so well.

The day wasn't a total loss, though.  After we were done, we went to Petsmart.  We met a handsome Greyhound there named Brody and his owner gave us his e-mail address so we could meet up later when the weather gets better.  Blue and I were both glad we were wearing our stylish pink coats.  I also found something that I'm going to put at the top of my Christmas list.

Now I'm off to have visions of sugarplums!  I hope the real Santa will bring us something good.  What are all of you hoping for this Christmas?
