Sometimes Public Service Is Its Own Reward

Bunny here, finally able to type at the keyboard.

Well, I'm not going to lie.  I'm feeling a little left out lately.  Lilac and Blueberry both seem to have some kind of understanding with Morgan, but she keeps trying to put my whole head in her mouth and put her paws on my back and I don't like it.  Plus, I got in trouble with Dad when I told her off.   This is really not the way a Greyhound princess is meant to live.

I was really happy last night when Mom got out my perfume, a fancy collar and my harness and told Morgan to go in the crate.  It was time for me to go visit at the nursing home and since Dad had a meeting, that meant that I was the only one going.  My tail wagged for the first time this week.

We arrived at the nursing home and I was ecstatic to see my civilized canine friends there.  It was just wonderful to do a little socializing.   I watched Vinny and Chip do some tricks to entertain the people down in the Alzheimer's wing and Lil had her special stool with her so she could get up high enough to visit with the residents who couldn't bend down to pet her.  Max and Journey were there, too, working the crowd and sharing tail wags.  Everybody, canine and human, was happy to see me and I was glad I went to bring good cheer, because it surely brought me some.   It's funny how that works!

By the time we left, I was feeling much better, until I started thinking about Morgan pouncing on me when we got home.  Then something amazing happened.  Mom turned into Dairy Queen and I got my own strawberry sundae.  It was such a wonderful night.  I wasn't expecting to get ice cream, but Mom said I'd done such a wonderful job visiting that I'd earned it.

The best part was coming home smelling like strawberry sundae when nobody else got any!  I'm glad that Mom remembers that I'm special after all.   Now I just need to get Morgan to understand how one treats royalty.

Ice Cream Stalker

Do you ever have the feeling that you're being watched?  Sometimes, as a dog owner, you just develop an intuition about certatin things.  Lately, I've noticed that some things bring out the animal in our beloved pets.  You can see for yourself!

Sure, she looks all cute and innocent!  That's because she thinks it will get her what she wants.  Of course, it doesn't help that it does get her what she wants!  Anybody else out there being stalked for anything, or is it just me?

It's All About Me!

Bunny here, taking over the keyboard yet again.

Saturday was such a fun day!  It started out all rainy and honestly, I would have been happy to have just crawled back in bed with Mom and have stayed there all day.  However, Mom got up and started getting all ready like she was going somewhere.  I kept one eye open and watched her carefully from the bedroom.

Soon enough, she came out of the bathroom dressed like she might be going somewhere.  I pricked up an ear to I could keep careful track of her activities.  She put some things in a bag, talked with Dad for a few minutes, then put on her rain boots and coat.  Then she helped Dad put my rain coat on and he got ready to go, too.

We drove to the park and they took some pictures of me in my raincoat.  They're trying to decide which one is the best one of me to enter in a contest.  I was most happy to model for them.  Mom says Dad might take more pictures later this week with Grandpa's fancy camera.

Anyroo, then they started talking about running some errands.  Dad said they might as well just go and I could go along, too!  Oh, I was a happy puppy!  It was just me in the back of the van.  The first part was boring.  Mom needed some shoes to wear for Easter, so I waited in the van while they looked in several places.  After that part was over, we headed to Petsmart and picked out a new family member.  His name is Finnster.  He's living in a vase with Mom's lucky bamboo.  He's a rather colorful fellow.  Of course, while they were looking at all the fish, lots of people came by and had to pet me.

I thought it had been a pretty good day when we left there, but it got even better.  There's a new ice cream store that Dad found and he was craving ice cream called Emack and Bolid's Ice Cream Confectionary For The Connosieur.  So, he stopped to get some, and since he and Mom both got chocolate mousse ice cream, he got me my own scoop of vanilla.

Then, later, after we got home, Dad decided that he liked Finnster so much that he went and got himself a fish to keep in his office.  He took Blueberry with him that time.  I had so much fun that I just couldn't get off the couch again.
