Bunny here, taking over the keyboard to let you know about our fun on Saturday.
It started off really good. Mom's alarm clock went off, but she curled up under the covers and spent some time snuggling with me and reading before she got out of bed. I was a little sad, but she said something about going for a walk, so then I felt better, if a bit curious.
I was wondering just what sort of walk it was going to be. It seemed like it was going to be a bit special, since Mom got all ready to go out and Dad took a shower, too. Soon, they were loading up things in the van and then Blueberry and I got right up in there to go. I was ready to see what was going to happen.
Well, after some driving, we ended up at a small park in a nice part of Bloomington. Blueberry and I got out of the van and to my delight, there were other dogs there -- a lot of other dogs! There were tiny Chihuahuas and giant Great Danes. They were all really friendly.
When it was over, we went back to the pavillion. There was food for the people and treats for the dogs. Then they had the costume contest and the best trick contest.
After that, it was time to go. Who knew that going out to have fun could raise money for a good cause? I sure hope we get to go back next year!
Looks like it was a very fun time, Bunny! A road trip, a walk, new friends, food, and treats - it doesn't get much more perfect than that!

To answer a few questions, the man was eating a pulled pork barbecue sandwich. They had them there for all the humans.
ReplyDeleteThe white great dane in the pictures with me is the same dog with the saddle. His name was Cyrus and he was the same age as me, although I walked right under him. His costume was that he was a Native American horse, which was why he had the war paint on. They added the saddle and "mane" at the contest. The little dog had a loin cloth on!
Hi, Bunny!
ReplyDeleteSure that was pawesome... lots of fun and for a very good cause!
Thanks for sharing it!
Kisses and hugs
