A Strange Visitor

Bunny here, writing a little about our nursing home visit last week.

Usually, I don't say much about our visits, or let Mom or Dad take pictures, but it was Morgan's first time visiting there, so we took a few pictures for posterity.  I'm not going to lie.  I wasn't quite sure how my wolfy sister would do there.  Just getting out the door to go was a bit of a circus.

When Morgan figures out that we're going somewhere, usually she gets so wound up that Dad just ends up taking her out to the van early so that the rest of us can get ready in peace.  Thursday night was no different.  Morgan was out in the van, and then Mom put my fancy collar on me.  Blueberry got all wound up, so Mom and Dad caved and let her go, too.  That meant that Blueberry had to visit with Mom and me.  That's okay, but it cramps my style a little bit.

Of course, Morgan didn't appreciate Dad wandering around the place and taking her where she couldn't see the rest of us, but she held it together really well.  All the people who saw her really liked her.  We kept our visit short because Dad wanted to end the visit on a good note and because Mom was getting a little frustrated with Blueberry.  She always zigs when everyone else zags, if you know what I mean.

So, we finished up with a little socializing with some of our Paw to Paw friends and then we called it a night.  Of course, the best part came at the end.  We stopped at McDonald's Golden Dinner Palace and Dad got us French fries.  A just reward for a job well done, I say!

  9. Very well done!! Mom used to work in a nursing home when she was younger - she knows that the residents get alot out of seeing and interacting with dogs :)

  10. You 3 looked like good doggies to me! What a special time for those you visited. I don't think Hu-mom would let me and Mack visit. We tend to get a little to excited at times, Mack loves to get into laps even when the human is not expecting it and Mack just might, maybe, mark something.
    Keep up the good work!

  11. I love the line "she always zigs when everyone else zags". I might borrow it... if you don't mind. It reminds me of me and R attempting to mountain bike together. I expect him to read my mind like K does - but that boy has a zagging state of mind (my husband loaned me R yesterday to cheer me up).

You are a wonderful pack, bring smiles to so many faces just by being such sweet dogs!

Isn't it a wonderful thingy to do? I always feel sooooo grrreat when I get home. Except when they FIGHT over who gets to hold me and fur how long. hehehe That happens about one trip in three. One lady calls me Freddie. hehehe
I am sooooo proud of all three of you for going to visit the "folks".

  16. You guys are always so inspiring with your visits like the one to the nursing home. I'm sure everyone really enjoyed having all you pups come to visit, and it's nice to hear that Morgan did rather well on her first trip. Sometimes wolfy dogs can be a bit intimidating, but Morgan probably just worked her charm and won them over! Great work! and a well deserved french fry treat!

  18. How wonderful of you to go to a Nursing Home to cheer up the residents.

My father-in-law is in a Nursing Home and they have always had one or two dogs living there and one cat...they are so comforting!

You are truly doing a noble deed!
