Bunny here, writing a little about our nursing home visit last week.
Usually, I don't say much about our visits, or let Mom or Dad take pictures, but it was Morgan's first time visiting there, so we took a few pictures for posterity. I'm not going to lie. I wasn't quite sure how my wolfy sister would do there. Just getting out the door to go was a bit of a circus.
When Morgan figures out that we're going somewhere, usually she gets so wound up that Dad just ends up taking her out to the van early so that the rest of us can get ready in peace. Thursday night was no different. Morgan was out in the van, and then Mom put my fancy collar on me. Blueberry got all wound up, so Mom and Dad caved and let her go, too. That meant that Blueberry had to visit with Mom and me. That's okay, but it cramps my style a little bit.
Of course, Morgan didn't appreciate Dad wandering around the place and taking her where she couldn't see the rest of us, but she held it together really well. All the people who saw her really liked her. We kept our visit short because Dad wanted to end the visit on a good note and because Mom was getting a little frustrated with Blueberry. She always zigs when everyone else zags, if you know what I mean.
So, we finished up with a little socializing with some of our Paw to Paw friends and then we called it a night. Of course, the best part came at the end. We stopped at McDonald's Golden Dinner Palace and Dad got us French fries. A just reward for a job well done, I say!

Wolfie sister! hahahah
ReplyDeleteWell done! That's very sweet of you all to visit the nursing home. I'm sure everybody likes all of you. Glad that your GSD sister is very houndlike these days too, good influences from you and Dame Lilac!!!
ReplyDeleteWoooooooooo... that sounds like a pretty good visit to me.. when all three of you get to go :) I am sure Morgan will be a hit soon at the home.
ReplyDeleteThose visits must bring a huge amount of happiness to the folk in the home.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely surprise your visit must have been to the residents at the nursing home.
ReplyDeleteWell done Morgan for being so good.
That is so lovely and helpful of you.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely deserved those treats! :)
Love, Bella & Ollie.
What a noble thing to do, Bunny... bless you and the rest for bringing some joy to the home.
ReplyDeleteLicks, hero
That was pretty good for Morgan's very first time, don't you think? You must have had a talk with her ahead of time, Bunny. Good for you all.
ReplyDeletelotsa licks, Lola
...in response to your comment, I thought it was a good excuse to stick my tongue out..but you hads to go and sell me out...hehehe!
ReplyDeleteWhat's so wrong withs zigging when everybuddy else is zagging? One should never be a follower...dats my story and I stickin' to it.
Puddles...not holdin' her licker...hehehehe...I am so crackin' up!
Very well done!! Mom used to work in a nursing home when she was younger - she knows that the residents get alot out of seeing and interacting with dogs :)

You 3 looked like good doggies to me! What a special time for those you visited. I don't think Hu-mom would let me and Mack visit. We tend to get a little to excited at times, Mack loves to get into laps even when the human is not expecting it and Mack just might, maybe, mark something.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work!

Minnie and Mack
I love the line "she always zigs when everyone else zags". I might borrow it... if you don't mind. It reminds me of me and R attempting to mountain bike together. I expect him to read my mind like K does - but that boy has a zagging state of mind (my husband loaned me R yesterday to cheer me up).
ReplyDeleteYou are a wonderful pack, bring smiles to so many faces just by being such sweet dogs!
So awesome that you do this with your pups and I know the folks at the nursing home love it!! God Bless you ;-)

ReplyDeleteWhat's even better is that you all got McDonald's french fries! Those are favorites around here:)
CONGRATULATIONS M O R G A N . That is soooo awsome. I do the nursing home thingy too, butt like you, I only have pictures from my FURST trip. I want to be respectful of the peeps that are there.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it a wonderful thingy to do? I always feel sooooo grrreat when I get home. Except when they FIGHT over who gets to hold me and fur how long. hehehe That happens about one trip in three. One lady calls me Freddie. hehehe
I am sooooo proud of all three of you for going to visit the "folks".
Congratulations on your visit! I'll bet everybody loved ALL of you!
ReplyDeleteMcDonalds Golden Dinner Palace? Man, that sounds like a very fancy place! Dad must love you a lot to get reservations there!! Fries? YUM!
Trixie, Minnie and Barbara
You guys are always so inspiring with your visits like the one to the nursing home. I'm sure everyone really enjoyed having all you pups come to visit, and it's nice to hear that Morgan did rather well on her first trip. Sometimes wolfy dogs can be a bit intimidating, but Morgan probably just worked her charm and won them over! Great work! and a well deserved french fry treat!
ReplyDeleteHuh... you guys took Morgan!!! Wow. I bet they loved her too! I'm a bit ahem crazy when I'm going places too. I wouldn't jumped all over those wonderful people.. so kudos to you morgan. Job well done.. and it deserved the golden arches.

How wonderful of you to go to a Nursing Home to cheer up the residents.
ReplyDeleteMy father-in-law is in a Nursing Home and they have always had one or two dogs living there and one cat...they are so comforting!
You are truly doing a noble deed!
That's so very much wonderful, Bunny! I would LUVS to go luv up on those peoples that live in the nursing home. But gosh, I get all kinda nervous going into a new place. So I dunno. I guess it's something to work towards.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm EVER so much glad that Morgan did good and that she didn't go all cracker-herding-dog when you guys weren't in her sight! Good girl!
