It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas...

We belong to several greyhound specific message boards and we participate in a Secret Santa gift exchange on one of them.  This weekend, one of our packages arrived. The girls were very excited.

They gave it a thorough sniff over and then I opened it and we found that their presents had all been individually wrapped.  I opened Bunny's first, since I knew she'd grab the first one and run with it anyhow.  It was a pink pig and she snagged it before I could even cut the tags off.

Next, I opened Blueberry's for her.  She gave her monkey a good sniff over and then carefully took him to a bed and curled up with him.  Bunny ran over to investigate, and suddenly she had a new monkey, too.  Blueberry didn't seem to mind at the moment, so I proceeded to Lilac's.

I called her over from the dog bed where she'd been patiently waiting.  She came over and sniffed her lion.  The sniff over took a long time; it was like an investigation.  I felt a little bad for the poor lion, since I was afraid she might reject him.  Bunny, however, was quite interested in Lilac's lion.  She offered to take him off Lilac's paws for her.  It was worse than I expected.  She took him in her mouth and then peed on the floor.  I didn't see that one coming!  Nothing says thanks for the gifts like sprinkling the floor.  Clean up quickly commenced and then we opened the rest.

There was a box of chocolates for Mr. Taleteller and myself.  There were also some special fancy dog pretzels, some peanut butter bones and carob bones for the girls.  Their tales were all wagging, so I assume that it was olfactory delight.  They all sampled a peanut butter bone in the afternoon and then enjoyed the pretzels at night after turn out.  Bunny absconded with hers to a dog bed before we could even get photographic evidence that she got one.  Rest assured, she enjoyed it thoroughly.

As for the fat head stuffies they got, Bunny somehow has the idea that they all belong to her.  We'll work on convincing her otherwise later.  For now, at least her enthusiasm for them was greater than Lilac's, which is good enough for me!   She thinks she has them hidden in a safe place.

  8. Heeeeee, Bunny seems to adhere to the philosophy that what's mine is mine and what's yours is mine! Either that or she's named herself the official stuffie inspector!

  10. There are only 2 non-food things that are always mine: Cuzes & toilet paper tubes.

Regarding food, burritos are always mine. Even if my Human is eating one. I'll just bit off the back end of it. No problem!
