Stop Thief!

It appears that Bunny is getting into the Christmas spirit a little early this year.  Perhaps it was unwise to start filling the stockings with goodies that the hounds are getting for Christmas a bit early, but I thought as long as there wasn't anything in them that smelled good, we'd be okay.  Of course, I thought wrong.

Somehow, it wasn't hard for Bunny to figure out which stocking was hers.  She nabbed it and took off with my husband in hot pursuit.  Of course, the fact that the stocking squeaked when she grabbed it wasn't any kind of deterrent.  That just spurred her on even more.  My husband had been taking some other pictures when it happened, so he was able to snap a few photos before he wrestled the stocking away from her and returned it to its rightful place on the bookshelf, since we have no mantle.  Of course cries of "Bunny, stop!  Come back here!" had no effect whatsoever.

Me:  Bunny, give that back!

Bunny:  It squeaks!  It squeaks!

Me:  You can't chew that!  It's your Christmas stocking!

Bunny:  Must...get...squeaky thing!

Me:  Santa Paws won't have anywhere to put your presents!

Bunny:  Santa Paws?  Where?

Me:  He's not here yet, but that's where he'll put your presents.

Bunny:  Will he pet me while he's here?

Me:  I'm sure he won't be able to resist!

Bunny:  Well, alright!  Did you say he's bringing presents, too?

I have a feeling that things will be more interesting now that Bunny has a stocking in her sights to stalk.  Hopefully, we'll be able to keep it safe until Christmas arrives.  I hope that whatever is in there is worth waiting for!

P.S.  You can get your own stocking that looks like your dog at Greytstockings.  She makes them from a photo of your dog, and she does other breeds besides greyhounds.

  1. Do you think she read her name, or recognized her likeness? Pretty girl. :)

  2. How can you possibly wait to find out what was inside? You poor thing. I would like to have seen a movie of the great chase. "Bunny stop!" Hehehe.

  5. Hi I just found your blog through Brutus the Frenchie's blog. When I saw the title of your latest post on his blog, I just knew what it had to be (though I had no idea what kind of thief or that she was so adorable!). Great stocking!

Bunny, you really must let Santa Paws fill the stocking completely before you take it. Don't short-change yourself, girl!! :)

  7. No, I didn't make it. We got it from Greytstockings http://theunrulyhound.com/cgi-bin/p/awtp-product-category.cgi?d=the-unruly-hound&pc=6364 and she mainly makes Greyhound and Italian Greyhound stockings, but she can make almost any breed. She does wonderful work. We'll show pictures of Blueberry and Lilac's stockings later.

Bunny is certainly clever enough to get her own stocking though!

  11. Love those stockings, but it is no use overhere. We have a stockingsnatcher here also and already need new ones. Tex thinks they are stuffies.
