We're Ready

Bunny here at the keyboard with a quick message.

I do believe that we are now ready for Christmas.  The tree is all set up and decorated.  We have snow.  It's cold outside.

Our stockings are even hung on the bookshelf with care.  We'd hang them on the mantle, but we don't have one.  Santa didn't seem to have any trouble with the arrangement last year, so I think that will be okay.

We've been good this year.  I don't think there should be any doubts about that.  Not that an innocent little hound doesn't worry just a bit, but I'm pretty sure that we'll be on the nice list.

Still, one thing troubles me.  Morgan is always on the alert for intruders.  I am afraid that none of us will get presents if she bites Santa.  Worse yet, I fear that we'll be permanently put on the naughty list if something like that happens.

So, I've devised a plan.  Santa is supposed to be at the dog bakery today.  No doubt he's there shopping for stocking stuffers for all of us!   Sorry, I got distracted.  Anyroo, I'm thinking if we go to the dog bakery and Morgan meets Santa, she'll see that he's an okay guy and let him in to deliver our presents on Christmas Eve.  I'll let you all know how the meeting went next week!

We're participating in this Saturday's Pet Blog Hop, hosting by Life With Dogs, Two Little Cavaliers and Confessions of the Plume.  If you'd like to participate, please follow the rules and follow your three hosts, add your blog to the Linky and copy and paste the html code into your html editor.  Thanks again to our hosts for putting on the hop!

  6. Don't worry, Bunny, Santa will use his magical powers on Morgan. Morgan will not bother Santa at all. Have fun seeing him today!

  7. You must admit that if a large man in a bright red suit walked into your house exclaiming ho, ho, ho any other day of the year, you would be happy to have a vigilant shepherd on duty.

  8. Very pretty tree!! I'm sure Morgan will be nice to Santa. He will probably smell of treats!

  10. Oh you tree is just STUNNING!!! Just the right amount of decorations. I'll bet it smells WONDERFUL.
Now I know that you have the most perfect of plans here. Morgan MUST meet Santa Paws... I mean if she doesn't how will she tell him what she wants him to bring fur all of you. She will be soooooo excited on the big night that she will not sleep a wink.. But Bite Santa Paws.. Morgan would NEVER do THAT. Don't worry.

  11. Beautiful tree! And, I'm sure that Santa is used to looking for stockings hung from the bookshelf. If you leave him cookies with a note about where those stockings are, he definitely won't miss them!

I'm told that Santa is so silent that even Morgan will not hear him. You could muzzle her if you want to be extra sure :) So don't worry...

  12. The plan of pre-introduction of Santa to Morgan sounds a bit weak as this Santa isn't the same as THAT Santa, Morgan knows! She's a no fool, she is a brainy and she uses her nose!!! May be you should think of another plan! Sorry that I've to be honest about this ; (
I actually think Santa knows the best way of delivering your presents to all of you. Don't worry!!!

  13. Maybe Santa should bring Morgan some cookies to win her over.

  15. Morgan is one smart pup - as soon as Santa gives her a gentle pat and a yummy treat, there will be no problem. In fact, she may even leave the door open for him:)

  16. You certainly look ready for Christmas, and I'm sure that Santa knows that Morgan is only being a GSD if she happens to bark at him. But I bet she won't. My cousin Niko is a really big GSD, and he's been getting visits from Santa for the last four years with no problems. The reindeer are a dead giveaway that the big guy is no ordinary intruder.

    Merry Christmas!

  19. Girls, mom LOVE your stockings!
She had never seen anything like it! Great Idea!
As for Santa, tell Morgan to do like me: she sees if he has good intentions and brings gifts. If yes, she does not do anything, if not she scares him and makes it go away!
But I think it will be okay. Santa is a good man, and from what we've seen you guys have been well behaved this year! You are not like me...

  22. Hello,
I found you while hopping around and I am now a new follower. I would love you to visit me and perhaps follow me back too.
You do look ready for Christmas, we haven't put our tree up yet but we have just put up the out door lights so we are getting there.
I look forward to getting to know you better in the future.

  23. Bunny, first of all, yes, it's cold (and supposed to get colder - have you heard the weather report!!!) and we have snow (and we're supposed to get more!!) and you do have your tree up and decorated (I love your 'believe' ornament -- I have several 'believe' things in my house, to) and your stockings are hung by the bookcase with care (I love that bookcase! I had one like that, a barister's bookcase, that used to be my great uncle's, though he was a doctor, but I gave it to my cousin, his granddaughter, because she's almost a lawyer-just needs to pass the bar), so I do believe it's time for Christmas! Second, I don't think Morgan will mess with Santa even though she does a regular patrol for intruders. They say dogs can sense when people are good and nice and kind and I think Morgan will just 'know' that Santa isn't there to intrude but to leave tiding of great joy (especially if it includes edible tidings!). I don't think any of you girls would be on the naughty list!

  24. I hope Santa comes and brings you lots of presents!

And that Morgan doesn't eat him!

    Hugs,

  25. Hey Bunny!
Love your tree and being ready for the holiday is the hardest part...it's all down hill from here! I really understand your concern about Sweet Morgan. I have the same K9, guard duty instinct and would deep down love to give santa a good nip (ahem), but I restrain myself just for this special occasion. I'm sure Morgan will too once she realizes that there are goodies in it for her!

  26. I am sure Morgan will greet Santa with a big lick. Then she'll let him get up off the floor:)

  32. Your decorations are lovely. We really admire the stockings! Did you mom make them?

We're sure Morgan will instinctively know she can trust Santa Paws to do no harm and just leave lots of nice pressies for you all.

  33. Bunny, you are a very smart doggie. Just in case, though, I hope you got something from Santa that smells like him so Morgan can have it around the house to compare. You know, to make sure it's the right Santa coming to your house.

I hear there are a lot of charlatans out there!

  34. Don't worry, Santa has his ways of getting past even the most tenacious guard dogs - he gets by our Rosie every year. Have a great Sunday

  35. Boy, we hope Santa and his reindeer are very quiet. If Noah hears a noise outside, he barks and then the girls all start their chorus. It's enough to wake the whole household. We don't want Santa getting scared away by the noise. Maybe Mom can give Noah a sleeping pill and make him sleep through the whole thing.
