Yes Bunny, There Is A Santa Claus

Our Christmas was a pleasant one, albeit rather busy.  One of the things that's always important to us is having time to spend with the girls.  We try to work things in during the month of December that includes them as much as we can.  You may recall from earlier blog posts that one of the things we did was taking the girls to see Santa at the local dog bakery.

The profits from the portraits were being donated to a local animal society, so we were happy to pay ten dollars for a picture that we'd be able to keep for a long time.  You might recall that Santa left us feeling a bit...underwhelmed...by his demeanor.  They had a high tech professional camera that took dozens of pictures in a matter of seconds.  After they were done, we knew the first batch of pictures was no good.  We repositioned the dogs, got Bunny and Morgan to sit with Blue standing behind them and everyone looking at the camera.  I was really excited after that batch of pictures.  They told us they'd choose the best one and print it.

A couple of weeks later, I was in the dog bakery picking up a few things and they were distributing the photos to customers.  I was glad I was in there since we'd thought they were being mailed to us after we had to fill out our mailing info.  The girl put the picture in a separate bag and I took it out to the car to look at it.

That was the best picture of the bunch?  Good heaven!  Morgan's tongue is over her nose, Blueberry isn't even looking at the camera and Bunny is standing.  Santa's eyes are closed and he looks like he's been out on a bender!  I know that picture was from the first bad batch.

I guess I can't complain much.  Hopefully most of the money went to charity.  I'd hate to see the rest of the pictures if that was the best one, though.  At least the snowman was smiling!  Hopefully it at least gives you all a smile on a Monday morning.

  1. Hiya everyone!

Aw, but you know sometimes it's the BAD and EMBARASSING photos that can trigger the most vivid memories! We really giggled at this post - especially the comment about Santa being on a bender - he he he!! So you've spread even more Christmas cheer by posting this - how wonderful! And hey, the idea behind the card is pawsome! We just don't get things like this in the UK - we might suggest it to our pal Jo (who has a pet store) for next year....hmmm, we can feel an idea forming in the back of our little heads.....!!

Oh - and JD just wants to say that Morgan has the cutest tongue ever and she looks totally adorable. He's got it bad you know.....! ;)

  5. LOL!
Whatever pose the dogs were in, they are still adorable. Too bad about Santa's eyes though. I bet he was real sleepy after delivering all his presents, especially since the reindeer, not greyhounds were pulling his sleigh!!
Anyways, I don't find anything wrong with the picture. It is rather cute!!

  21. We gave up on the Santa photos two years ago because their best picture never seemed to match our idea of a best picture. We still send the monety to the charity though!

  22. Oh dear. That's really too bad. At least it was for a good cause, right? All that matters in the end, I suppose. But I would be disappointed as well. Ah well, it's a photo that will make you laugh in future years, no doubt. That's pretty priceless!

  29. Hi Bunny and Mom,
Yes that is a quilt that lives in Tallahassee made by using one and a half inch squares finishing one by one inch squares. I forget how many there were in the quilt. It is a very big quilt. I was introduced to quilting too late in my life to get good at it but yes I use to quilt.
Wall hanging & baby quilts, quilted vests and handbags.. I have a baby quilt top ready to be quilted that I did in 09. I fell July 1st 09 and haven't sewed since. It was a pretty bad fall!! I am finally well from that fall but I can't do anything in the sewing room!! I draw a blank when I go in there!! Tom says that will pass but it has been over a year and I fell so bad b/c I have a lot invested in sewing stuff!! Maybe when I get new glasses and I can see to thread a needle....
    I really like the picture!!
