We've Been Invaded

Bunny here, reporting a tale to you that you may or may not believe.  Over Christmas, Dad's niece really wanted a certain toy.  Nobody had them anywhere.  Dad went out early one morning, just before Christmas, to get breakfast for the people who work in his office (Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and do you think he brought me one?  No!  He did not!) and he ran into Wal-Mart.  To his surprise, the lady at the front of the store told him that if he was there looking for the toys his niece wanted, they were in the back.  Well, now he was curious and he knew her mom didn't get her one.  So, he found them in the back.  They told him there was a limit of two, so he got two and brought one home for Mom.  Why he thought she needed one, I don't know, but people are strange creatures.

Anyroo, I forgot about it because the box didn't look that exciting to me.  I was walking through the kitchen, minding my own business, when I was startled by a fearsome creature.  I didn't know what to do!

Alerted by the commotion in the kitchen, Lilac came in to see what was going on.  She may be old, but she is pretty spry and crafty!  She made off with that thing before I could even shout "Look!  A Milkbone!"

Blueberry was completely unfazed by the whole experience.  See if I come to her aid if she's ever in distress or attacked by a rodent!

I couldn't believe that there was a wild animal  IN OUR HOUSE and neither Mom or Dad was concerned!  I knew I had to investigate and do my duty to protect our home and this nation from that marauding maniac.  Lilac was not as helpful as I'd hoped, since she seemed to forget that it was dangerous as soon as she got to the dog bed with it.

Finally, I leapt into action and got the little furball under control!  Then I understood what they thought was so funny.  I was duped by a mechanical hamster!  I will get him, though, mark my words!  That hamster hasn't seen the last of me!

Blueberry Types for the Blog

  1. Yippee!!! I knew when they saw that toy it would be a riot! Thanks for the video snippets Houndy!

  2. Miss Bunny, I hope Mom and Dad know how lucky they are to be protected by such fearsome houndies. Good girls!

  3. Way to go Bunny. You're the dog for the job! One time, a real squirrel chewed through a screen and came into my house. My dogs ran and hid in the furthest room from it! They're still embarrassed...

BTW, I forgot to answer a question that you asked on my blog, about how many trails we have around my house. We chose our house based on having trails directly out the back door and based on having our property completely surrounded by national forest. So, we have a network directly behind our house. In the summer, I can ride on trails all day while only crossing a couple of roads by connecting different networks via trails. However, in the winter, like now, I have to use the roads to get from one network to another because the connector trails are too snowy. But, there are at least 5 networks within 3 miles of my house! We know that we're lucky in that regard!

  4. How exciting! You are all mighty hunters doing the good and brave work of ridding the estate of unwanted rodents.

  5. Loved the videos! We all laughed :)

  6. Wow, you weren't even scared! And we liked the nifty that a special rodent-getting-move?

  8. Good thing you are greyhounds, so you coud out run the thing on that high-spped chase! Way to go getting that rodent out of the kitchen! LOL

  9. Yes, we know have Bunny on video proving that she is unable to exit the kitchen going forwards. She will always, do a turn halfway and back out to the living room. It's too funny. My dog would never have any "quirks" would you, Blueberry. LOL
